Before being taken into our rescue, Boots would have been considered a feral dog since he had never been touched by human hands. It took us 6 weeks, lots of chicken wire, sedatives, and the help of kind people who had been leaving food for him to finally catch Boots. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, heart worm negative and is beginning to fit in with the pack at his foster family’s. He walks very well on a leash, housebroken, and is becoming less skittish when meeting new people. Boots loves being inside for the first time in his life and has bonded with his foster mom and dad. He is a Heeler Mix around 2 1/2 years old and weighs 42 lbs.

Boots will make a great family pet if the family does not expect an immediate bond and is willing to be patient. Boots is not aggressive in the least bit and is not a jumper; it will just take a few days for him to trust that you have his best interest at heart. Ideally we would like for him to have a fenced in yard. He gets along well with most dogs and ignores chickens and cats. We do feel if there is another dog in the family, it would be best that it be a female.
